Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 1, 2026
1. Data Collection & Anonymity
Our platform is architected to ensure your anonymity. Unlike standard websites, we strictly limit the data we collect to protect your identity.
- We DO NOT collect: Your name, email address, phone number, IP address, device identifiers, or location data when you submit a report.
- We DO collect: The content of your report (description of the incident), uploaded evidence files (documents, images, audio), and the category of the incident.
2. Use of Information
The information you provide is used solely for the purpose of investigating wrongdoing and seeking justice. Specifically, we process data to:
- Evaluate the merit and credibility of the whistleblowing report.
- Connect the case with appropriate pro-bono legal counsel or investigative journalists.
- Compile aggregated, non-identifiable statistics on corruption trends in Nigeria for advocacy purposes.
3. Data Storage & Security
We employ military-grade security measures to ensure that your data cannot be intercepted or accessed by unauthorized parties.
Encryption
All data is encrypted in transit (using TLS 1.3) and at rest (using AES-256 encryption).
Secure Servers
Our servers are located in secure jurisdictions with strong privacy laws, minimizing the risk of seizure.
4. Data Sharing Policy
We act as an intermediary. Your report may be shared with vetted partners, but strictly under the following conditions:
Pro-Bono Lawyers
To initiate legal action or defense on your behalf.
Investigative Journalists
To expose corruption publicly if legal avenues are blocked, only with your implicit consent via report settings.
5. Cookies & Tracking
WhistleBlowNG operates a zero-tracking policy.
- We do not use persistent cookies that track you across the web.
- We use a single, temporary session cookie solely to facilitate the secure form submission process. This cookie is deleted immediately after you close your browser.
- We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party trackers.
6. Legal Basis for Nigeria
Our data processing is grounded in the public interest and the protection of fundamental rights. While Nigeria's NDPR (Nigeria Data Protection Regulation) governs personal data, our system is designed to process non-personal data by anonymizing sources at the point of entry.
In cases where you choose to reveal your identity to a lawyer, that relationship is protected by Attorney-Client Privilege under Nigerian Law.
